What Does a School Counselor Do?
    Provides direct counseling services to students individually or in small groups.
    Provides education and support services to parents.
    Provides consultation services to teachers.
    Facilitates referrals to community support services.
    Advises students on academic planning.
    Provides career guidance to students.
    Provides career information to parents.
    Maintains an up-to-date information on career and post-secondary school information.
    Networks with post-secondary schools.
    Serves on school and community committees addressing the needs of young people.
